Mental Health Support Services Bedford

We start with our tried and tested YOU Programme at the Bedford Corn Exchange, Harpur Suite entrance, this coming Friday 6th October at 09:30.

The YOU Programme is a fantastic and free 4 week programme, enabling those experiencing mental wellbeing difficulties to learn new and innovative ways in how to better manage their mental health. With or without a diagnosis, this programme has been proven to significantly help individuals to make positive life changes by working together to explore a range of wellbeing recovery tools, and using intentional peer support in a relaxed, and fun, learning environment.

As a peer led Community Interest Company, we know first-hand how challenging it can be to find and access services that are meaningful and genuinely have the individual’s needs at the heart of the delivery. At Impact, we very much pride ourselves on our ability to deliver peer-focused services, concentrating on the practical, and often overlooked, wider health and wellbeing needs of people struggling with poor mental wellbeing.

Excitingly, we now provide a follow-on programme called YOUR Recovery Pathways. This programme is delivered two days a week over 9 weeks and specifically adopts a strengths based recovery approach to the learning and success of improving mental wellbeing. Our Learners are given a comprehensive workbook, which our facilitators support them through over the 9 weeks, using a wide variety of recovery planning techniques including lots of learner-led activities.

Referral Process.  The referral process couldn’t be simpler! You have a choice of referring an individual using our online application form, contacting the Impact team, or turning up at one of our enrolment sessions.

We welcome self-referrals too and are happy to contact ‘learners’ prior to attending to put their mind at ease, if necessary.

We are keen to build our networking and referral relationships within the Bedford area and kindly invite you to contact us should you have people within your services who you feel would benefit from attending one of our free YOU Programmes.

For the YOU Programme running this Friday 6th October, simply send us the details of the person you are referring and we will be ready and waiting to welcome them on Friday!

All learners are required to complete a set of forms, which we are more than happy to support them with, if necessary.

It’s worth mentioning that we provide refreshments and lunch for both of our programmes as a way of encouraging people to work together to break down stigma, tackle isolation and introduce meaningful peer support.

If you would like to know more or want to get in touch to discuss a referral, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We very much look forward to working together with you now and in the future in the campaign to improve our Counties health and wellbeing for better standards of living, life, hope and happiness.

Courses will be running throughout 2017 and 2018 and various venues in Bedford, details of which can be found on the service page.
