What Is The YOU Programme?

Community Mental Health

The YOU Programme can serve as a vital first step toward feeling better, enhancing our mental health and well-being, and getting our lives back on track through enabling education, support, and empowerment.

The two-day-a-week programme, held over two weeks, teaches people how to better manage their thoughts and emotions through an understanding of Mind Management.

The course provides a range of helpful information, including well-being self-management models, science-backed practices, and planning strategies to assist anyone struggling with unhelpful thoughts, emotions, or behaviours in embracing change and beginning a new journey of empowering self-agency regarding their mental health and well-being.

Who Are Impact?

At Impact, we all have personal experiences and understand how overwhelming it can feel not knowing where to turn for help, especially when it feels like no one understands the struggles and challenges of everyday simple tasks caused by poor mental well-being.

That’s why we have designed a well-being peer support programme based on what really works. It helps people feel empowered, build confidence using a peer support network, and start making positive changes to improve the quality of their health and their lives.

Is This For ME?

You don’t have to have a mental health diagnosis to benefit from attending one of our YOU Programmes.

Many people who attend our programmes are struggling with a variety of life challenges, such as

  • Bereavement/Loss
  • Relationship problems
  • Stress at home
  • Stress at work
  • Unemployment
  • Work-related issues
  • Menopause
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Pain Management
  • Covid-19
  • and many other problems affecting their quality of living and overall health.

With or without a diagnosis, the YOU Programme can really help you regain focus, embrace hope, and start enjoying life again.

The Four Day Programme Covers…

Day 1

Mind Management

Introduction to Impact and establishing the foundation for the course.

We begin with an overview of Intentional Peer Support and explore some common and familiar symptoms associated with poor mental wellbeing. Then, we take a closer look at Mind Management, identifying areas for potential change as we gain a better understanding of how to regulate our emotions and manage our thoughts.

Day 2

Building Strength.

Using our new Mind Management knowledge, we will begin to build mental strength and resilience by understanding the role of Fear as an emotion and trigger, before learning how to adopt and embrace empowerment and make healthy, empowering decisions.

We’ll conclude the day by exploring how to create a wellbeing management system in a realistic and achievable way, examining our broader options for building good mental wellbeing and effective wellbeing management.

Day 3

Making Change

We’ll explore the Japanese method, Kaizen, for transforming habits, one small step at a time, along with some more familiar models of change to help strengthen our new wellbeing management system.

We will continue to build our solution-oriented, empowering mindsets and learn more strategies, techniques, and wellbeing practices to manage our thoughts and emotions and implement them into our daily lives.

Day 4

Total Wellbeing

Our last day brings all the learning together by sharing and working with you to create your Impact Well-being Practice, RAMPS, along with a wealth of total wellbeing resources, fact sheets, and information suggestions for your continuous well-being and future development.

A one-to-one Guidance & Support session is available to you once you have completed the course, as well as the option of signing up for one of our other courses or venturing into pastures new. Whatever you choose, we are here to support you in achieving your goals.
