We’ve had a few challenges this last academic year, which in true Impact style, we have managed to embrace and draw lessons from to make us stronger for the future!

More importantly, we have had some amazing successes this year too. Our team has doubled in size and we are delighted to welcome so many new volunteers who have been through our two programmes and successfully completed the Impact Volunteer training and induction programme. Our thanks go to each and every Impact Volunteer for their commitment, support and dedication to Impact and our learners.

This is what I want to say…

‘Tremendously empowering… has given me the understanding of my mind and thought process, to gain personal control of my future and the strength to change and decisions to move my life forward.’

Thank you.

This is what I want to say…

‘The course has really helped me understand my anxiety a lot more and given me the tools in order to improve it. I found the course very friendly and I’m glad I decided to do it.

After doing this course I feel more in control and know what I need to do to control my mental health!’

This is what I want to say…

This course is rescuing me. It is the most helpful course I have ever done and I know that I will be able to use the tools, whereas in the other course I haven’t found them as relevant.

:-)

This is what I want to say…

‘This course was amazing and the facilitators are fantastic!’

This is what I want to say…

I           I have learnt to value me
M        My mental health is very important
P          Positive attitude helps
A          Able to see a happier life
C          Caring about me must come first
T          Thank you!

This is what I want to say…

‘Thank you so much. No one has ever told me I can control this. And my friends and family have noticed such a difference in my mood and outlook.

My dad and best friend crossed paths recently when I went to A&E and she said my dad raved about how well I’m doing, and that felt so good!

I’m finding the joy in things I love again.

I went to the dentist and for the first time, opened up about the childhood trauma that caused it all and then comfortably set up a full fixture plan!!

This is a huge step for me as I am terrified of the dentist. This will make such a difference to my outlook and confidence.’

This is what I want to say…

The Impact course is the best 4 weeks anyone could have to improve their physical and mental health.

No pressure whatsoever, everyone socialises well and with no stress. If anyone is struggling, Impact is there for YOU.

As ever, the people who come to us often with their hearts in their hands, hoping for something that will help them through and get back in control, teach us more than they will ever know. Heartfelt congratulations to everyone who found the courage to attend an Impact programme and begin their personal journey of self-discovery for wellbeing recovery.

As Impact grows our stakeholders, funders, partners and friendships grow! A few special thanks to some very special people who have given Impact their time, support and wisdom…

Last word from me

We welcome Jackie Bean as a new Director within Impact and look forward to developing our exciting vision with Jackie and the rest of the team, in addition to further developing the board during autumn 2018 – we’ll keep you posted!

A personal thank you to, Jackie Bean and Carolyn Lewis, a huge amount of the work written here could not have been achieved without their tireless efforts and limitless passion, compassion, empowerment and belief.

Enjoy your summer days and weeks, whatever you have arranged.

Stay cool outside…stay calm inside :-) and when the latter becomes a challenge, try this…
